What to Avoid After Your IPL Treatment

What to Avoid After Your IPL Treatment | Revive Beauty Bar

To ensure proper healing and maximize your IPL results, it’s important to follow post-treatment care instructions. Here’s what to avoid after your session:

1. No Hot Showers for 48 Hours

Hot water can irritate sensitive skin. Use lukewarm water instead.

2. Avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and Alcohol

For 2 days after your session, avoid blood thinners and alcohol to reduce bruising and flushing.

3. Avoid Harsh Skincare Products

Do not use retinols, glycolic acid, or other strong products for one week post-treatment.

4. Protect the Treated Area from Sunlight

Apply sunscreen SPF 30+ and avoid sun exposure for 4–6 weeks to prevent damage or pigmentation.

5. No Swimming for a Week

Chlorine and pool chemicals can irritate your skin. Wait at least 7 days before swimming.

6. No Strenuous Exercise for 48 Hours

Exercise increases blood flow and may irritate treated skin. Rest for two days before hitting the gym.

7. Avoid Hot Tubs and Jacuzzis

Similar to hot showers, heat can stress treated skin. Avoid for at least 48 hours.

8. No Excessive Sweating for 24 Hours

Skip saunas or intense cardio. Let your skin breathe and recover.

9. Don’t Pick or Peel

Let any dry or peeling skin flake off naturally. Picking may cause scarring or dark spots.

10. Avoid Hair Removal Procedures

For 14 days after IPL, avoid waxing, electrolysis, or depilatory creams to protect the treated area.

By following these guidelines, you’ll protect your skin and get the most from your IPL results. If you have any questions, contact Revive Beauty Bar for personalized support.
